Das größte Spektakel auf See - Abenteuerurlaub auf der "Symphony of the Seas"
Vom 27.03. bis 29.03.2018 hatte ich das Vergnügen, zwei Nächte auf der Symphony of the Seas von Malaga nach Barcelona zu verbringen. Die Symphony of the Seas ist das neueste und größte Kreuzfahrtschiff der Royal Carribean Flotte und verspricht das größte Spektakel auf See. Auf 362 Metern Länge können bis zu 5518 Passagiere auf 16 Decks (insgesamt gibt es 18 Decks) untergebracht werden.Ca. 2000 Angestellte kümmern sich um das Wohl der Gäste. Einfach unglaublich. Aber nicht nur die Größe des Schiffes ist unglaublich. Auch alles andere auf diesem schwimmenden Vergnügungspark ist einfach ein bisschen mehr..:-).
From 27th until 29th of March I had the pleasure to spend two nights at the "Symphony of the Seas" from Malaga to Barcelona. The Symphony of the Seas is the newest and largest cruise ship of the Royal Carribean fleet and promises the greatest spectacle on sea. At 362 meters in length, up to 5518 passengers can be accommodated on 16 decks (in total there are 18 decks). Approximately 2000 employees take care about the guests. Just unbelievable. But not only the size of the ship is incredible. Everything else on this floating amusement park is just a little bit more .. :-).
Anreise und Einchecken - Arrival and Check in
Am 27.03. ging es von München über Madrid nach Malaga. Beim Anflug auf den Flughafen hielt ich spaßeshalber Ausschau nach dem Dampfer und da lag es seelenruhig im Hafen von Malaga. Wahnsinn. Am Flughafen wurden wir direkt eingesammelt und in einer 20 minütigen Fahrt zum Hafen von Malaga gebracht. Am Hafen angekommen wurde mir erst richtig die Größe des Schiffes bewusst. Es war einfach riesig und ich kam mir vor wie ein Kuchenkrümel, der in See stechen will..:-). Für eine schnelle Abwicklung am Hafen kann man bis zu drei Tage vor Abreise online einchecken und druckt sich seinen Seapass aus, den man am Hafen nur vorzeigen muss .Nach e iner Sicherheitskontrolle ähnlich wie am Flughafen bekommen wir unsere Zimmerkarten, was auch gleichzeitig das Zahlungsmittel für alle Aktivitäten an Bord ist. Am Ende des Aufenthalts und beim Auschecken wird dann alles abgerechnet. Über eine Rampe gehen wir an Board und landen direkt auf Deck 5 wo der Guest Service uns einweist.
On 27.03. we went from Munich via Madrid to Malaga. On the approach to the airport, I was looking just for fun for the cruise ship and there I saw it in the port of Malaga. Crazy. At the airport we were picked up directly and taken in a 20 minute drive to the port of Malaga. Arrived at the port I was really overwhelmed of the size of the ship. It was soooo huge and I felt like a cake crumb that wants to stab in the lake .. :-).
For speed up the process at the port you can check in online up to three days before departure and print out your sea pass, which you have to show at the port. After a security check similar to the one at the airport, we get our room cards, which is also the payment method for all activities on board. At the end of the stay and check out everything will be paid once. About a ramp we got on board directly on deck 5 where the guest service instructed us with further information.
Zimmer - Rooms
Nach einer kurzen Einweisung des Personals und Orientierung fahren wir über einen der insgesamt 24 gläsernen Aufzüge in unser Deck 12. Wir haben ein 16 m2 großen "Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony" für bis zu 3 Gäste. Neben einem Doppelbett gibt es ein Sitzbereich mit Sofa, ein vollwertiges Badezimmer und einen privaten Balkon mit Meerblick. Was will man mehr..;-). Wer natürlich mehr will, der kann sich in verschiedenste Suiten bis zu einer Größe von ca. 120 m2 einquartieren. Besonderes Highlight auf der Symphony of the Seas ist die zweistöckige Family Suite mit fast 130 m2 die wahrscheinlich jedes Kinderherz höher schlagen lässt.
After a short briefing and orientation, we head to Deck 12 via one of the 24 glass elevators. We have a 16m2 Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony for up to 3 guests. In addition to a double bed, there is a seating area with a sofa, a full bathroom and a private balcony with sea view. Nothing more needed..;-).
If you want more, you can stay in a variety of suites up to a size of approx. 120 m2. A special highlight at the Symphony of the Seas is the Loft Family Suite with almost 130 m2 which will probably make every child's heart beat faster.
Aktivitäten - Activities
Wo fange ich an und wo höre ich auf. Das gestaltet sich bei der Symphony of the Seas ziemlich schwierig, denn das Angebot ist einfach überwältigend.
Where do I start and where do I stop? This is quite difficult with the Symphony of the Seas, because the offer is simply overwhelming.
Sail Away Schon alleine das "Sail away" am Abend vom 27.03. ist eine Show für sich. Gegen 22 uhr legen wir vom Hafen in Malaga ab und schippern langsam aufs offene Mehr. Auf Deck 16 hat sich gefühlt das ganze Schiff versammelt. Es läuft schwungvolle Partymusik und der Kapitän "moderiert" die Abfahrt. Als wir weiter draussen sind startet dann das, auf das sich jeder gefreut hat. Ein knallbuntes Feuerwerk am Rand des Hafens wird gestartet und alle an Board jubeln.
The "Sail away" on the evening of 27th of March was a show for itself. At about 10 pm we leave the harbor in Malaga and sail slowly to the open sea. Ptobably the whole ship is waiting on deck 16. There is a relaxed athmosphere and party music and the captain "moderates" the sail away. As we are almost on the open sea a brightly colored firework displays on the edge of the harbor. Everyone on board cheers and can't wait for the next days.
Wer es sportlich mag - Who likes it sporty Deck 15 ist ganz dem Sport und dem Vergnügen gewidmet. Bevor man an den Aktivitäten an Board teilnehmen kann, muss man sich registrieren, unterschreiben und bekommt dann ein Bändchen mit denen man überall teilnehmen kann. Neben drei Wasserrutschen gibt es zwei Surfanlagen, die Flow Riders, die natürlich auf meiner To Do-Liste ganz oben standen..:-).
An jeder Aktivität gibt es mindestens einen Angestellten, der Dir eine kurze Einweisung gibt, oder Dir am Anfang hilft und Tips gibt. Basketballplätze, Minigolf, Tischtennis und Kletterwand dürfen beim größten Kreuzfahrtschiff der Welt natürlich auch nicht fehlen. Jede Menge Pools laden zum schwimmen, planschen und relaxen ein. In den vielen kleineren warmen Whirpools kann man einfach nur entspannen und sich durchsprudeln lassen. Ein Highlight ist die Zipline mit der man hoch oben über das Schiff schwebt und die "Ultimate Abyss", die höchste Rutsche auf See, wo man sich 10 Decks im Dunkeln in die Tiefe stürzen kann..:-). Beides hab ich natürlich ausprobiert und yyeeaahhhh...ein MUSS wenn man Urlaub auf der Symphony macht.
Ein Fitnesscenter und Spa darf natürlich nicht fehlen auf so einem Dampfer und findet man auf Deck 6, wo es für alle Lauflustigen auch eine Aussenlaufstrecke rund um das Schiff gibt.
Deck 15 is dedicated to sport and pleasure. Before you can participate in the activities on board, you have to register, sign and then get a ribbon for participating on every activity. In addition to three water slides, there are two surfing facilities, the Flow Riders, which of course were on top of my ToDo list .. :-). At each activity, there is at least one employee who gives you a short briefing, or helps you in the beginning. Of course, basketball courts, mini golf, table tennis and a climbing wall are also part of the world's largest cruise ship. Lots of pools invite you to swim, splash and relax. In the smaller warm whirlpools you can just relax. One of the highlights is the zipline. Yes, a real zipline.
The "Ultimate Abyss" is the highest slide at sea, where you can slide 10 decks down .. :-). Of course I've tried both and yyeeaahhhh ... a MUST if you are on the Symphony. A fitness center and spa should not be missing on such a cruise ship and can be found on deck 6. For all running freaks you find thereas well an outdoor running track around the ship.
Unterhaltung- Entertainment
Für die Unterhaltung auf der Symphony wird den ganzen Tag gesorgt. Es gibt verschiedenste Akrobatik- und Eisshows, Musicals und das Aqua Theater.Wer nicht aufs Shoppen verzichten will, der findet jede Menge Shops auf Deck 6. Mein Highlight war natürlich der Süßigkeiten-Store, welcher nicht nur Kinderherzen höher schlagen lässt. In der Sportsbar auf Deck 6 fühlt man sich echt in eine andere Welt versetzt. Neben Bierchen und Snacks kann man hier die aktuellen Fußballspiele verfolgen.Ein Highlight ist die abgespacte Bionic Bar, wo voll automatisiert Roboter Deine Cocktails mixen..:-). Muss man mal erlebt haben. Wer während des Aufenthalts auf der Symphony dann doch mal in die Natur will, der kann in den Central-Park im Aussenbereich von Deck 8 flüchten. Hier erwarten einen über 12000 Pflanzen und Vogelgezwitscher.
Entertainment at the Symphony is provided through the whole day. There are various acrobatics and ice shows, musicals and the Aqua Theater. Those who do not want to do without shopping will find plenty of shops on deck 6. My highlight was of course the candy store, which not only makes children's hearts beat faster. In the sports bar on Deck 6 you really feel transported to another world. In addition to beer and snacks you can watch football matches or other sports TV. A highlight is the spacy Bionic Bar, where fully automated robots mix your cocktails .. :-). For the lucky ones a casino is waiting. You have to have experience that. If you want to get into nature during your stay at the Symphony, you can escape to the Central Park in the outer area of Deck 8. Here you can expect more than 12,000 plants and bird songs.
Essen - Food
Mit 20 Bars und Restaurants über alle Decks verteilt bleiben kulinarisch wohl keine Wünsche offen. Ich konnte zeitlich natürlich nicht alle ausprobieren, aber das was ich ausprobiert habe, war einfach nur köstlich. Die Haupt-Restaurant bieten das Frühstück und Abendessen in Buffet-Form an und mit Blick aufs Meer isst jeder Bissen einfach ein Genuss.
With 20 bars and restaurants spread over all decks it is a paradise for all food lovers. Of course I could not try all of them, but what I tried was really delicious. The main restaurants offers breakfast and dinner in buffet style and with this amazing sea view every bite is a pleasure.
Fazit - Summary
Die zwei Tage auf der Symphony of the Seas waren ein Abenteuer der besonderen Art und ich kann sagen, dass es wirklichdas größte Spektakel auf See ist...:-). Abenteuer, Unterhaltung, gutes Essen, Sport und Wellness lassen keine Wünsche offen und für jedes Alterhält die Symphony seine Schmakerl bereit. Ich komme wieder.
The two days at the Symphony of the Seas were a very special adventure and I can say that it really is the biggest spectacle at sea ... :-). Adventure, entertainment, good food, sports and wellness leave nothing to be desired. II'll be back.
